Setup instructions

1: Turn the PC off. Unlike a USB mouse, a PS/2 mouse cannot be "hot plugged"

2: Unplug the PS/2 mouse from its jack

3: Note that the adapter has two cables, one longer than the other

(a) Plug the long cable into the PS/2 jack
(b) Plug the mouse into the connector at the end of the short cable
(c) Place the adapter where it can be reached easily

4: Start the computer

5. Move the Assistance switch to ON

Set the 3 position switches marked "Button Delay" and "Double Click" to OFF

Filter Settings
Turn the rotary switch labelled "Filter Settings" to "0". The mouse should now work as normal. Gradually turn the rotary switch clockwise one click at a time, while moving the mouse. This should progressively reduce the curser jitter caused by hand tremor.

Button delay
If your tremor also causes unintended double mouse-button clicks, set the "Button Delay" switch to "Low" or "High". This will suppress unintentional rapid clicks.

Double Click
With normal PC settings your tremor may not be able to match the inbuilt standard settings. Hand tremor will often cause the mouse to move between clicks and fail to register on a normal PC. The adapter "Double Click" switch will allow you to obtain more generous settings on either "Low" or "High". Typically the "Low" setting will allow a delay of 0.75 seconds and the mouse can move up to 3.75mm between clicks. With the "High" setting these values are doubled.

Scroll Wheel
With hand tremor a three button mouse is recommended in order to take advantage of the scroll wheel facility which works with the adapter in the normal way.
